I am a native of Hampton County from the Camp Branch community. My grandparents and great-grandparents raised me to be a self-sufficient, independent and caring woman. They instilled a strong sense of self-esteem into me and my cousins that has carried us into adulthood. Currently, I am a teacher at the Academy for Arts, Science and Technology in Myrtle Beach, SC. My husband and I are the proud parents of three energetic boys ages 2, 4 and 6! I am a graduate of Coastal Carolina University (undergrad.) and Lesley University (M. Ed.). I am also a member of Phi Alpha Theta (National History Honors Society), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., NEA, and Who's Who Among Teachers in American High Schools.
