Tuten scores four TDs
Jefferson Davis Academy visited Cone Field Thursday night to face Nick Gohagan's JV Patriots in the opener for both teams.
The young Patriots jumped out to a commanding 14-0 lead in the first quarter on the strength of two Will Tuten touchdowns. Patrick Henry's dominance continued through the second quarter and Nicholas Doremus and Tuten each added another touchdown. The Patriots led the Raiders 28-0 at the half.
The second half began with a long drive by the Patriots, capped by Tuten's fourth touchdown of the game.
Now leading 34-0, Coach Gohagan began subbing liberally, including all his "first game" sixth graders. Patrick Henry added one more score, a 58 yard run by TJ Metzger. The Raiders added two fourth quarter scores by Mackenzie Webster.
Patrick Henry's JV team will be home to Clarendon Hall next Thursday, September 2nd at 6:00.
