The Patrick Henry Academy baseball team lost 17-2 to Laurens Academy on Monday in Game 1 of the best-of-three battle for the SCISA Class A State Championship.

"Andrew Rowell, C.J. Sheffield and Austin Rowell worked on the mound for the Patriots," assistant coach Paul Creason said. "The pitching staff had a tough night with the Crusaders batsman on the road, surrendering 17 runs, 12 walks, 7 base hits and 5 errors."
