The Estill girls took second and the boys finished third in a remarkable turnaround in the Region 5A meet on April 28.
"From placing last place last year to where we are now," said coach J.C. Threatt. "I think that is quite an accomplishment."
Wesley Johnson and Whitney Bennett had the team's two first-places finishes, with Johnson winning the boys high jump with a 5'6" and Bennett winning the girls discus, with a 98'7" throw.
The top four finishers in each event will advance to the Lower State meet on Saturday at Charleston Southern beginning at 10 a.m.
