Quennie H. Williams
YEMASSEE - Queenie H. Williams, 67, of the Jonesville community of Yemassee, SC, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Bayview Manor, Beaufort.
Born May 6, 1942, Colleton County, she was a daughter of Victoria Williams Hamilton and Andrew Hamilton. She attended the public schools of Colleton County and resided her entire life in her native home. She was a former member of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Yemassee, where she sang on the Junior Choir. Later, she became a member of the First Freedom Baptist Church, Yemassee, where she sang with the Senior Choir and was President of the Missionary Ministry. Her employment history includes private care for the Malphrus Family of Ridgeland, and Doctor John Ryans. In addition, she has been employed with Beaufort Wood Products, Yemassee, Wayline Manufacturers, Ridgeland, and Vestra Industries of Walterboro.
Surviving are: her husband, Deacon Matthw Williams, Sr., Yemassee; her daughter, Magdelene (Thomas) Lawton, Walterboro, sons, Matthew Williams, Jr., Atlanta, GA, and Lester Williams, Yemassee; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 25, 3:00 pm in the First Freedom Baptist Church, Yemassee. Burial was in the Williams Family Cemetery, Yemassee.
Young Funeral Home of Yemassee was in charge of the arrangements.
