James Harold Early, Sr.

SAVANNAH, GA. - James Harold Early Sr., 73, died Aug. 9, 2010 at the Heritage Square Nursing Home in Savannah, Ga.
Mr. Early was born in Hampton County on Dec. 3, 1936. He was a son of the late Paul Early, Jr. and the late Mrs. Mattie Mae Early Tate. At an early age, he joined Brunson Chapel. He received his education in the public schools of Hampton County. In 1950, he met and married the former Maggie J. Mixson. This union was blessed with five children. Mr. Early worked for Georgia Pacific Savannah Hardwood-Plywood Plant. He retired after 19 years of service.
Surviving are: His wife, Maggie J. Mixson Early of Savannah, Ga.; sons, James A. Early (Carolyn), Larry D. Early (Jackie), and James H. Early Jr. (Loretta), all of Savannah, Ga.; daughters, Cora S. Early of Savannah, Ga. and Nancy R. Early of Fairfax; brother, Paul Early III of Atlanta, Ga.; brother-in-law, Donald Harvey of Allendale; sisters-in-law, Mary (Joseph) Meyers of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Nancy (Henry) Williams of Brunson; aunts, Annie Lee Ritter of Fairfax; Luell Hill of Los Angeles, Ca.; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends; special friend, Trumell Cooper.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 15 at Second Baptist Church in Brunson with burial in the Fitts Cemetery in Brunson.
M. F. Riley's Funeral Home of Fairfax was in charge of the arrangements.
