NORWALK, CONN. - James Gillison, Jr., 56, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 in Branford Hospice.
Mr. Gillison was born in Estill on Jan. 30, 1954 to James Gillison, Sr. and the late Mariam (Pastchel) Gillison. He was a landscaper, initially employed with Buccarelli Landscaping, before starting his own business of many years. An avid pool player, he was a member of the 507 Pool League and a member of VJ's Pool League.
Surviving are: His wife, Georgeannea (Burden) Gillison; sons, James III, Joseph and Jamie Gillison; daughters, Ivory Burden, Jameshia and Jasmine Gillison; seven grandchildren; brothers, Anthony Gillison and Brant Early; sisters, Brenda Johnson, Shirley Gillison, Carolyn Gillison, Bonita Heywood, Albertha Gillison, and Joanna Gillison; special cousin, James Kearse; special sister-in-law, Beverly Burden; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at St. Paul Church of God in Christ in Nowalk, Conn. with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk, Conn.
George J. Peterson Funeral Home of Bridgeport, Conn. was in charge of the arrangements.
Martin's Funeral Home of Estill was in charge of the local arrangements.
