Henry Lee Lingard

VARNVILLE - Mr. Henry Lee Lingard, 83, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. Born in Varnville, South Carolina, he was the second oldest son of the late Mr. Panny Grant and Mrs. Edith Grant Lingard. Mr. Henry Lee Lingard was educated in the Hampton County public school system, Hampton County. At an early age, he became a baptized member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Varnville, where he remained faithful until his death. During his lifetime, Mr. Henry Lee Lingard was employed as a farm worker as well as an employee of the former Georgia-Pacific Company, Varnville. Those who knew him admired his love for hunting, fishing, and telling jokes. He was the "King of the Hill" and a "Master" at picking peanuts.
He was preceded in death by (3) Sisters: Ms. Marjorie Campbell, Ms. Elizabeth Williams, and Evangelist Beulah Rozier.
Surviving are: (5) Children: Ms. Betty Jean Croger of New York, Mr. James Henry Lingard, Mrs. Leverse Boatwright, Mrs. Ceola Snipes (Mr. Larry), and Mr. Leon Lingard, all of Georgia; (9) Grandchildren; (2) Great-Grandchildren; (1) Sister, Mrs. Janie V. Clark (Mr. Lee) of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Brother, Deacon Joe N. Lingard (Mrs. Myrtis) of Varnville, South Carolina; One special hunting buddy, Deacon Hazel Mole; A host of nieces, nephew, other caring friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 2010, 12:00 Noon at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Varnville with burial in the Frampton Cemetery, Varnville.
Washington's Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
