WEST COLUMBIA - Harry W. Harter, Jr., age 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.
Mr. Harter was born in Allendale on Oct. 13, 1946. He was a son of the late Harry W. Harter, Sr. and Bernice Pender Harter. Mr. Harter served in the SC National Guard and was a member of Mt. Arnon Baptist Church.
Surviving are: His son, Harry Michael Harter and his wife, Tonya; daughter, Michelle Harter Purdy and husband, Rusty; son, H.W. Harter III and wife, Laura; son, William Donald Harter and wife, Jennifer; son, Cameron Thomas Harter and wife, Cayla; nine grandchildren; former spouses, Katherene Harter Shealy, Ernestine Dobson Glynn; brother, Malcolm Harter; sister, Hilda Harvey and brother, Thomas Harter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Harter.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at Mt. Arnon Baptist Church in Allendale.
