PICKENS - Mr. Glenn Steven Galloway, 48, formerly of Hampton, SC, died Monday evening, January 18, 2010 at his residence in Pickens after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born January 4, 1962 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Rev. William A. Galloway and Carolyn Myer Galloway. He was presently employed with the 3-M Corporation in Greenville but prior to moving to Pickens had worked for 25 years as an Industrial Engineering Technician with the Scotsman Corporation in Fairfax, SC. A devoted Christian, Glenn was presently a member of Pickens Church of God in Pickens where he was a greeter. He was a former member of the Hampton Church of God where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, was a Sunday School Teacher and a Missions Representative. Glenn will be remembered by his family and friends as a wonderful, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and as a friend to everyone he met no matter the circumstances.
Surviving are: His wife, Sandra Morris Galloway of the home; one son, Steven Paul Galloway, also of the home; one daughter, Ashley Galloway Garrick and husband Brad of Pickens and two sisters, Nancy G. Tuten and husband Joseph of Estill and Marsha G. Winn and husband O'Neal of Hampton. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Rett, Hannah and Emily Grace Garrick. He was predeceased by his daughter, Stephany Ruth Galloway and his brother, W. Dennis Galloway.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2 PM in the Hampton Church of God in Hampton. Burial followed in the Hampton Cemetery.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
