Frances Loretta Miley Major

VARNVILLE - Frances Loretta Miley Major, a daughter of the late Mrs. Eloise Smith Miley and Mr. Isaac Miley, was born in Hampton County on June 18, 2012. After the death of her parents, she was reared by the the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Rosa Lee Bowers. At an early age, she joined Cherry Grove Christian Church, Brunson, SC where she served on the Usher Board and Inspirational Choir, and was a custodian. She attended the public schools of Hampton County and was a member of the Potter's Wheel Biblical Study Group.
On July 12, 1992, Loretta was joined in Holy Matrimony to Marion Lee Major, and to this union two children were born.
On January 18, 2012, our Heavenly Father called her home to eternal rest at the Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville.
Cherishing her memory are: Her husband, Marion L. Major of Varnville; daughter, Shalonda R. Major of Varnville; son, Marion J. Major of Columbia; one sister, Emmazine Mole of Varnville; reared as a sister, Rosa (James) Orr of Varnville; two aunts, Elise (Willie) McBride of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; Maggie Miley of Hampton; two uncles, Ernest Hay and Clarence Hay, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; mother-in-law, Betty Major of Pineland; seven brothers-in-law, Willie (Cynthia) Major Jr. of Miami, Fla.; Harold (Ella) Major of Pineland; Kenneth Major, Rudolph Major and Issac Major, all of Pineland; Minister Anthony (Minister Leola) Major of Ridgeland; Mr. Daryl (Tamie) Major of Springfield, Ga.; eight sisters-in-law, Kathleen Warren Forrest (James) of Fairfax; Missionary Jeanette (Johnnie) Goldwire of Clyo, Ga.; Glennie Williams and Runnett Major, both of Pineland; Rosa Taylor of Maryland; Shirley Cohen and Ethel B. Cohen, both of Newark, N.J.; Agnes Coleman of Virginia; adopted grandchild, Shavona C. Rice; one Godson, Joshua Mole; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Greater Cherry Grove Christian Church (D.O.C.), Brunson, with burial in the church cemetery.
Riley's Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
