VARNVILLE - Mr. Daniel "Danny" Boone, 59, of Pepper Street, Varnville, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 20, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services were held 2 pm, Monday, January 23, 2012 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in the Zahler Cemetery.
Mr. Boone was born January 15, 1953 in Charleston and was a son of Alice Port Hall and Daniel J. Boone. He loved hunting and fishing; but will be remembered most as a loving husband, father and grandfather who worked hard all of his life and loved everyone as his family.
Surviving are: his wife, Carol Zahler Boone of Varnville; his mother, Alice Port Hall of Hampton; children, Becky Nix (Phillip) of Hampton, Jay Boone (Kendra) of Brunson, Dan Boone (Tabitha) of Varnville, Joseph Zahler of Varnville and Rusty Zahler (Laura) of Gaston; grandchildren, Nicole Nix, Joey "Bubba" Nix, Hanna Nix, Natalie Boone, Russ Zahler and McKayla Zahler; sister, Lou Bell Simmons of Hampton; brother, Eddie Martin of Hampton; aunt, Lucille Brown of Hampton; and a special cousin that he loved like a brother, Richard Poston of Varnville. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Boone; and his stepfather, who raised him, Thomas E. "Pop" Martin, Sr.
