BRUNSON - Mrs. Claudia Frances Benton, 82, of Turpentine Still Road near Brunson, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born May 29, 1927 in Barnwell, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Sydney Dicks and Odessa Adams Dicks. She was a former seamstress with the Addarena Shop in Hampton and was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church.
Married to the late Philip Curtis Benton, she is survived by two sons: Michael Benton and wife Donna and Bill Benton and wife Kim, both of Brunson; two daughters: Cheryl Gooding of Brunson and Dianne Croft of Barnwell. There are 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10 AM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. R. P. Hodge. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Barnwell.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
