Bishop Joe Anderson

SAVANNAH, GA. - Bishop Anderson, 88, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Westview Nursing Home, Port Wentworth, Georgia.
Bishop Anderson was born in Lena on October 20, 1921. He was the son of the late Suzanne Terry and Sallie Anderson. In 1948, Bishop Anderson was united in Holy matrimony to the late Bertha Roberts of Sylvania, Georgia. In 1957, Bishop Anderson along with several other ministers started a group that was called the Gospel Key's in Savannah, Georgia. He pastured Anderson Temple in Ellabell, Georgia until his health began to fail. After his health started failing, he joined Jerusalem Holiness Church Marlow, Georgia.
Surviving are: son and daughter-in-law; Mr Howard (Emma) Addison, Savannah, GA; Six Grandchildren, Ms.Patronia Addison, Guyton, GA, Ms.Tiffany Addison, Savannah, GA, Mr. Howard (Robin) Lee Addison, Jr., Savannah, GA, Mr.Micheal Mercer, and Mr.Rico Lee both of Atlanta, GA; and Mr. Romonda Lee, Savannah, GA; 16 Great Grandchildren, Two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Robinson, Estill and Mrs. Lena Johnson, Boston Mass.; Two sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Daniels, Lakeland, Florida and Odessa Roberts, Sylvania, GA; One aunt, Mrs. Anna Owens, Ridgeland; Two special friends, Mr. Eugene Priester and Officer Smalls both of Savannah, GA.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a loving church family.
Funeral service for Bishop Joe Anderson were held Saturday, February 20, 2010, 11:00 a.m., Ebenezer Holy Church, Estill, SC with burial in the Sweetrose Baptist Church Cemetery, Estill.
John Eli Memorial Chapel of Martin's Funeral Home of Estill was in charge of arrangements.
