ALLENDALE COUNTY - Betty Jenkins Washington, 69, died Monday, Jan. 11 at the Augusta Nursing Center in Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Washington was born in Allendale County on Nov. 28, 1941. She was a daughter of the late Robert Jenkins and Henrietta Youmans Jenkins. At an early age, she joined St. Luke Baptist Church. She attended the public schools in Allendale County. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Ellie Washington. Due to illness, Mrs. Washington required special medical care and her family saw to it that she receive the care she needed at Augusta Hill Nursing Center in Augusta, Ga.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one child, Linda Miller Blake and a sister-in-law, Nancy Jenkins.
Surviving are: children, Ruthann Jenkins and Annie Lee Junior of Jersey City, N.J.; John H. Junior of Savannah, Ga.; Ella Mae (Willie) Mitchell and Patricia Junior of Fairfax; Celena (Raymond) Junior of Allendale; one brother, Deacon Charlie Jenkins, Sr. of Fairfax; one sister, Roletha "Babe" Loadholt of Farifax; sister-in-law, Edna Williams of Fairfax; 23 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; five nieces and three nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfax with burial in the Allen Chapel Cemetery in Fairfax.
M.F. Riley's Funeral Home of Fairfax was in charge of the arrangements.
