PEARLS of Hampton County Invites Nonprofits and Faith-based organizations to Apply for Grants
In its fifth year of grantmaking, PEARLS of Hampton County is seeking grant applications with a focus on "RESPECTING OUR ELDERLY THROUGH SERVICE AND CARE" from organizations that offer programs to individuals and families who reside in Hampton County. For this grant program, applications are invited from nonprofit 501(c)(3) or equivalent organizations only and grant requests must be specific to the focus theme.
The application can be accessed on the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry's website www.cf-lowcountry.org/learn/pearls-of-hampton-county. Grant applications are due at The ACCESS Network, Inc., Gwen J. Bampfield, PEARLS Grant Committee, 109 1st Street East - P.O. Box 132, Hampton, South Carolina 29924, by 5:00 p.m. on March 25, 2013.
PEARLS stands for Philanthropic Empowerment Among Rural Lowcountry Sisters and was established at the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry in 2007 to fulfill the mission of connecting women who care with causes that matter. Contributions are distributed to nonprofit 501(c)(3) or equivalent organizations in Hampton County as recommended by the members and also used to build an endowment to insure grantmaking in perpetuity.
About the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, with a service area that includes Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties, manages the fund for PEARLS of Hampton County and provides administrative support. The community foundation established a similar giving circle in Beaufort County in 2003 named Women in Philanthropy.
