Hampton police still searching for suspects in shooting incident

First Byline:
Michael M. DeWitt, Jr.

HAMPTON - The Hampton Police Department is still searching for clues in connection with a possible drug-related shooting that occurred at 203 Ellis Street around 9:09 p.m. Monday.
Police Chief Perry McAlhaney said Tuesday that a man was shot at least twice, suffering wounds in the chest and arm area and in the abdomen, and the HPD is still searching for a suspect.
The victim, identified by the HPD as Micheaux Jimone Walker, 23, of 6300 Mosley Dixon Drive, Macon, Ga., was driven by a witness to the Hampton Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.
The wound to the chest area simply "grazed" Walker and was not life-threatening, said McAlhaney, and the victim was treated and released from the HRMC. Police discovered at least three bullet holes in the side of the residence.
According to an HPD incident report, police found a "bud" of marijuana and possible drug paraphernalia, including a scale and a box of sandwich bags, lying in plain view on the passenger seat of Walker's vehicle, a white SUV.
Walker told police that he was in the yard of that residence when he was approached by three unknown black males, two wearing dread locks, who told him to "turn it over." He also said that when they started shooting at him he ran to a nearby residence to hide and they left the scene driving a green-in-color four door Pontiac Grand Am.
After the shooting a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) bulletin was issued in Hampton and Allendale counties for that vehicle.
Both Walker and a witness, the 37-year-old female who lives at that Ellis Street residence, were "very uncooperative with providing details," according to the report.
The Hampton County Sheriff's Office also responded and assisted with the incident.
The incident is still under investigation, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been identified.
