YEMASSEE - Two Hampton School District Two employees were injured in a two-vehicle collision near Yemassee early this morning.
Estill High School head football coach James Stokes and his wife, Jean Stokes - Hampton Two's director of personnel, testing and accountability - were injured around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 17A and Castle Hall Road, just inside Beaufort County. Both were transported by Hampton County EMS to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for treatment.
At least one person in the second vehicle was responded to by Beaufort County EMS and then flown from the scene by Life Net helicopter. That person's identity or condition is not known at this time.
The Stokes live in the Beaufort area and it is believed they were traveling to Estill to work at the district when the accident occurred. Their condition is unknown at this time.
