DRESS CODE FOR TEACHERS

I recently attended awards day at Ben Hazel Primary, and was shocked at some of the way the teachers were dressed. Two of the teachers on stage had on dresses , but wore flipflops. One of the teachers had on shorts. I have since spoken to other parents, and they say almost anything goes over there. Shorts, low-cut tops, flipflops, tattoo's on their legs, etc.

My point is, if my child is held accountable for his dress code, why aren't the teachers???

SMOKING AT HOLLY STREET

I have children playing ball at Holly Street and am over there several times a week. I usually leave upset over the fact that adults just light up cigarettes right in front of the children. Some do have enough respect to walk over near the trashcans, and some just light up right where they sit. So unfair that we have to sit and watch this and inhale their smoke.

If you aren't allowed to smoke at football games, and soccer games, then why at the baseball games??

POLICEMEN

I am sure we have many great policemen in Hampton. However, I have noticed them smoking in uniform on my occasions. One place in particular was at the ballpark on Holly Street in the presence of many small boys and girls.

Most places of employment are now smoke free. If policemen have to smoke, I think it should be in a private place, and not in uniform for small children to view.

FESTIVAL FUN DAY

I thought the Fun Day at the lake was just wonderful. It makes me sad that we only get to do this once a year. Can't we think of some other things to do at the lake??

WATERMELON T-SHIRTS

I heard something sad this week about watermelon t-shirts being sold at Brown's Office Supply. I saw the regular t-shirts, the Dora t-shirts, and the Obama t-shirts in there. I thought it was nice, something for everyone. However, I understand that people are upset and think it is offensive to have Dora and Obama with a watermelon. This is sad!!!
