A severe thunderstorm warming for Hampton County has been extended until 5:45 this afternoon.

Around 5:08 p.m. the National Weather Service radar detected a storm around six miles west of Luray moving southeast about 15 miles per hour. The storm is capable of producing winds in excess of 60 miles per hour and torrential rains.
