To refresh my intial point, I am in this for the well being of the horses, the safety of the on-lookers, and the image of our horse community to our visitors.  I never meant to offend anyone nor go after anyone's role in the festivities.  Why let any of this continue?  This has been going on year after year and it is consistantly getting worse. 

This isn't about "pleasing" anyone.  This is about safety.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me in my search (especially the meeting time).  Who says I do not already play an active role in the Watermelon Festival?  I'd love the opportunity to further discuss this matter as well as get active with next year's entries of the horses in the parade.  One suggestion I could make before the meeting is to remove the "Carolina Cowboys" entry altogether since we KNOW they are the ones doing this.  If they ask why, simply tell them about the complaints as well as the safety issues that go along with their entry.  Maybe with your leadership role as well as my knowledge and contacts, something might FINALLY be done about this issue.

I leave with this last thought:  all those in the parade CHOOSE to be in the parade....THE HORSES HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER.
