I've lived in Hampton County since March 1995 and have called this home. I have totally enjoyed the Palmetto Business Meeting, which really isn't a business meeting of sorts but a fun filled day for people of all ages. It's something about just being appreciated by the company that gives you a since of being in a great big family.

At a time when I was really young we had great big family reunions where relatives from all over Flordia and Georgia would bring food and we'd enjoy making ice cream, playing and eating. Most of all visiting with family members. Well that's what Palmetto Electric Annual Business meeting is like. We may not bring a covered dish but it's a great big family that comes out to have fun. Sure many might come to get their gift of appreciation and a chance to win a car or truck, who wouldn't, but a lot come for the fun of the day. One year my mother in law won the truck and boy did she need it as her car had completely gone out.

This year I didn't see as many people attend and that could have been because so many things were going on the same day or the economy just kept a lot of people home. I missed a lot of couples that get out and dance. My husband and I noticed right away that several were missing this year. I hope that they were well and just couldn't make it. I like to walk the around and see who all comes out. I don't have a problem talking to folks and if I don't see some of the same people I'll ask my husband if he noticed them. I don't remember names but faces yes so we'll describe them.

The flea market is always great and the kids love the slide and rock climbing that's out there for them. All love Clappy the Clown as she takes time in the HEAT to paint faces or spray paint hair. The greatest people are the staff of Palmetto Electric who come out for the day to help direct parking, sell food and greet all who attend.

I want to just say thank you to all who make this day a wonderful day. If you are a customer and haven't ever attended you've missed out on a great family fun filled day. Maybe next year you will attend.
